Does DomainTools Brand Monitor trigger alerts for domains encoded in other than ASCII for example Cyrillic?

Unlike PhishEye, Brand Monitor unfortunately will not alert on these domains. We do however have a comprehensive mapping of Cyrillic and other character sets to appropriate homoglyph characters in ASCII. Each case will differ so please contact DomainTools support for additional information.

I know a domain name was registered or deleted. Why didn’t I get a Brand Monitor notice about it?

The Brand Monitoring service sends you an email within 24 hours after DomainTools discovers a domain that matches your criteria. For many TLDs, the notice will follow within 24-48 hours after the domain is registered, but in some cases (most ccTLDs), the notice will be delayed because we did not discover the domain until after it was registered.

I did not receive my full alert list in the Brand Monitor email. Can you fix this?

There are times when the email may contain a lot of data making the email size larger than what your email server can handle. In those cases, you will need to log into DomainTools and go to your History of Brand Monitors to review the daily alerts.

DomainTools currently monitors hundreds of TLDs, including all the common generic TLDs like .com, and over 60 ccTLDs like .de and .cn.
We will also be monitoring all new gTLDs as they become available. Go to the TLDpedia page to see the full list of TLDs we currently monitor.

Do you have exhaustive coverage of the TLDs you monitor?

DomainTools has exhaustive daily coverage of the following TLDs: .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .us, .co, .mobi, .name, .tel, .xxx, .pro, .asia, .travel, .coop, .aero, and .sx.
For all other TLDs, which includes most Country Code TLDs (ccTLDs), DomainTools uses a combination of internally and externally sourced methods to constantly scour the web for domain registration signals. Because many domain Registries do not publish their full domain lists, all data is collected on a best-efforts basis. When DomainTools’ Brand Monitor notifies clients of “discovered” domain registrations on these TLDs, the actual registration of the domain may pre-date the time at which we become aware of its existence.

How do I use the Alerts History page? What information does it provide?

The Alerts History page displays whether or not there is a Brand Monitor for each alert date in a certain month. Once a month is selected from the drop-down box, all Brand Alerts will display with a red, green, or grey circle next to each day in the month. Green dots signify that the majority of Brand Monitor records for that day are new, red dots signify that the majority of Brand Monitor records for that day are deleted, and grey dots signify that there is no Brand Monitor history for that day.
To view the history detail for a particular day, click on the green or red dot. The Brand Monitor history page appears displaying all new, deleted or on-hold domains.
Click on a domain name to display the Whois Record for that domain. From this page, you can view and purchase related domain names, and domains with alternate TLDs.
